Are You Ready for WordPress 2.6 Beta 1?
Lead developer, Ryan Boren at WordPress, announced the availability of WordPress 2.6 Beta on his blog. Starting with the beta testing cycle, and an expected release in mid July 2008.
This 2.6 beta version of WordPress isn’t as much as a major release as the 2.5 version was, but it has some nice enhancements and features.
Features and Enhancements:
Revisioning of your posts.
New and improved image editing dialog.
Faster loading Admin pages and static file caching.
Previewing of themes.
Post editor has built in word counter.
Bulk activation, deactivation and deleting of plugins.
New, improved TinMCE and jQuery versions.
Many bugs fixed and improvement in performance.
Plus, many more features……

Damned! I just upgraded to WP 2.5.1 yesterday. Slow, huh? I think I’ll let it mature for a while before I take another jump.

When I was a kid, we went to the local zoo at Como Park, located in Minneapolis/St. Paul, Minnesota - USA. They had a roller coaster there called, MadMouse and I wrote it till I got sick. It kinda stuck with me all these years and the MadMouse roller coaster, is still there…..

Oh, I hate roller coaster. I couldn’t really understand the joy in it. I just hate that feeling, it’s just so sickening.

Bulk activation, deactivation and deleting of plugins.
That feature is IMO is the best feature for this release.
