The aim of the Subject Centre is to support and enhance learning and teaching in these three disciplines in UK HE. These web pages provide information on all our activities & services plus a Resource Database with access to high quality materials of use to those who teach and support learning in higher education. The Higher Education Academy is a new UK-wide organisation set up to support quality enhancement in teaching and the student experience in higher education.
The Subject Centre for Information and Computer Sciences is one of 24 Subject Centres funded by the Higher Education Academy. These are based in higher educational institutions throughout the UK, the centres offer subject specific expertise and information on learning and teaching for the HE community. HE Academy-ICS is hosted at the University of Ulster in collaboration with Loughborough University.
We are one of 24 subject networks which were part of the Learning and Teaching Support Network, funded by the UK Funding Councils for Higher Education. The subject centres are now part of the Higher Education Academy. Based at at the University of Birmingham, we aim to promote a scholarly and disciplinary-specific approach to the innovation and reform of learning and teaching in the social sciences
The conference welcomes contributions and participation from academics, researchers, practice professionals, project leads/managers, policy makers and commissioners, students and graduates, public, patients and service-users. The conference will bring together individuals and groups who share knowledge and expertise from their experience and research and also have an interest in experiential learning in a broad range of contexts.
