The Washington-Baltimore metro area is home to a large number of people enthusiastic about preserving this segment of our nation's history. The Radio History Society is dedicated to the preservation of radio and television history. In June 1999 RHS' Radio & Television Museum in Bowie, Maryland opened its doors to the public, and since then has continued to grow in stature.
This site is dedicated to all of us who remember (and those who want to learn about) "NBC Monitor," the wonderful weekend radio program that aired from June 12, 1955, to January 26, 1975. Pat Weaver's brainchild began as a 40-consecutive hour weekend extravaganza, with news, sports, comedy, variety, interviews and remote pick-ups from around the world.
