The Behavioural Medicine Institute of Australia (BMIA) was established in 1996 by Marek Jantos, to promote and provide non-pharmacological, conservative therapeutic options to patients, clinicians and institutions in Australia. This goal is being successfully implemented through direct services to patients, through the provision of training opportunities to clinicians, academic facilities and health care institutions.
The Biofeedback Certification Institute of America (BCIA) was created to establish and oversee standards for practitioners who use biofeedback and to certify those who meet these standards. BCIA is an autonomous nonprofit corporation. The primary mission of BCIA is to protect the public welfare by assuring the competence of certified biofeedback practitioners.
The Association for Applied Psychophysiology and Biofeedback (AAPB) was founded in 1969 as the Biofeedback Research Society. The goals of the association are to promote a new understanding of biofeedback and advance the methods used in this practice. AAPB is a non-profit organization as defined in Section 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
