ARMAD is an annual NON - POLITICAL Amateur Radio Public Service project that stands for Amateur Radio Military Appreciation Day. We work with National Military Appreciation Month during the Month of May. We also provide other events, and work with other groups as requested during the year. We ask Amateur Radio Operators from around the world to team up during this effort to allow the people from our communities to gather at public such as shopping centers, parks, and VA hospitals.
The idea for the site came initially from my deciding to take up restoration of Vintage Radios and Electronics (as a hobby) after a gap of some 40 years. In the very early 1960's I did work as an apprentice on Radio & Television repair but left to take up a career in Avionics (Airplane Electronics).
