As with everything, satellite providers have competition. The great thing to know is that there are only two, Dish Network and DirecTV. Dish Network has not been on the scene as long as DirecTV, but this does not mean the quality is not present. Technology has grown a great deal over the years so that we can have a small dish receive a signal from space to transmit broadcasts
